28mm Gauls for Impetus-CAV1

here are pics of gallic cav1

28mm Gauls for Impetus

Just finished rebasing some old , old glory Gauls for Impetus. Currently have 2 medium cav, 9 light foot warbands, and 2 light foot Gaesati warbands. All I need to do now is base some skirmishers(and maybe buy the full rules, and find an opponent, and find time to play). I really like this range of old glory- very dynamic, many different poses. So far thats 176 infantry and 24 cavalry(all with different hand painted shields-whew) based up. Still have 30 slingers and 29 archers painted, waiting to be based...1 of my poor archers died in the maw of a crazed Shitz-Tu.
very hard to see detail at this range...I may post individual unit pics later.

28mm old glory thureoporos Idumeaen auxiliaries

These are 2 units of 15 men...of 28mm light infantry for my Seleucid WAB army. 30 figures by
Old Glory bbased on 25 by 25mm metal base stands. I really like how these guys turned out..
I think I will paint some more thureoporos eventually. I modelled these after the Idumeaen Auxiliaries on plate 7 ( the parthian campaign of DemetriosII ) in the Montvert publication,
The Seleucid Army, by Nick Secunda... great book. oh well, dumping these also.

28mm old glory Thracians-Seleucid/successor

30 old glory figs painted for my Seleucid/ successor army. I really like these guys, bt im dumping them on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300338014535&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

28mm Saxon warbands

Hello again, these are pictures of 2 of my Saxon Warbands based on 20mmx20mm metal bases, stuck on magnetic move trays. 2 x 24 man units for a half finished WAB army. Each warband has 8 Huscarls in the front rank and 16 supporting thegns. The figures are all Black Tree Design, part of an army deal. All figures came with hand axe only, so all the figures with a spear have had the axe drilled out and replaced. That was a lot of drilling as i have two other unpainted similar units. shield designs all hand painted( poorly too ). Boy I think Wargames Factory Vikings/Saxons are going to sell like hotcakes... I think if i do Viking/Saxon it will be in 1/72-between Zvezda and Emhar and If only I still had myRevell boxes... I don't know why but i really enjoy 1/72 plastic. It paints up quicker, it's cheaper, more accurate human proportions.,and I still base them as I would 28mm metal. of course these saxons actually measure about 33mm while my 1/72 are about 25mm.

Indian Elephants in 1/72

Here are the beginnings of my Indian army for Impetus (also FOG).

I figure 12 elephant models should be enough for any occasion. In

Impetus I would use 2 models for one unit, giving me 6 units of elephant power.

The models are 1/72 plastic by HAT/COATES & SHINE, and are not that bad.

My personal favorites are Zvezda and Caesar in this scale but sadly neither do

an Indian line yet. These were very quick to paint up as I did not do very much

detail or decoration....I may revisit them later...I may not.

I'm very happy with this sizeable elephant contingent as it was very cheap.

maybe 5 or 6$ per box, and whats best is there was a mistake and each box contained 3 elephants instead of 2.
